Who We Are
historic green mountain falls foundation
The Historic Green Mountain Falls Foundation, formed in 2006, is advised by a board of governors, appointed by the Kirkpatrick Family Fund, and is dedicated to enhancing and preserving the unique qualities of Green Mountain Falls and the surrounding area. The foundation focuses on historic preservation, open spaces, parks, trails, and projects that are integral to this distinctive setting at the base of Pikes Peak.
We achieve these goals by engaging in collaborative projects, offering educational programs, and utilizing advocacy efforts. Our objectives are simple: to protect and preserve the historical treasures and natural environment that make the Green Mountain Falls area so special. We believe that when nature thrives, so do people, and by preserving our past, we can inspire the future.
We encourage thoughtful economic development by attracting cultural tourism through the annual Green Box Arts Festival, public art installations such as James Turrell’s Green Mountain Falls Sky Space, the Keith Haring Fitness Court, and the many art installations that you will find around town. The Green Box website provides information on meaningful opportunities for locals and visitors to connect with arts, culture, and the surrounding natural beauty.
We welcome anyone who shares our passion for preserving the rich history of our community to join us.
